Markem Imaje Uses A New Optical Fiber Laser Printer To Provide Chemical Free Coding

Markem Imaje introduced SmartLase F250, a compact 20W fiber laser printer that can provide high-quality permanent coding on high-density substrates without ink.

SmartLase F250 is the first new product launched by Markem Imaje after it acquired Solaris laser, an expert in laser coding and marking solutions.

According to Markem Imaje, SmartLase F250 is suitable for customers who want to use laser manufacturing solutions for product identification and packaging applications. The company added that the laser printer is the "ideal" equipment for enterprises pursuing high-speed coding quality, because space is very valuable.

It is reported that SmartLase F250 can realize chemical free production and reduce operating costs by reducing production line failures and reducing ink demand.

In addition, Markem Imaje said that the entrance protection level of SmartLase F250 controller, print head and touch screen user interface is at least IP55, which obviously can provide long-term reliable operation under harsh, dusty and humid conditions. The company added that the Industry 4.0 version of the printer already has a series of industrial interfaces that can be integrated with factory automation and manufacturing execution systems.

It is said that once integrated, the user interface of SmartLase F250 can improve the operation efficiency by 20%. The printer also has the MIVA (Markem Imaje Virtual Assistant) function, which helps provide customers with remote troubleshooting. The company added that most markets provide 24-hour or 48 hour on-site service level agreements (SLAs).

Alex Koudriashov, Marketing Manager of Markem Imaje Laser Products commented: "SmartLase F250 combines speed and efficiency with simplicity, safety and sustainability.

"F250 is a future oriented printer. The fact that less downtime and no ink can fundamentally reduce OPEX, and the elimination of chemical components makes it an ideal choice for companies seeking to reduce the impact on the earth."

Last year, Markem Imaje launched the SmartDate Xtreme Plus printhead application, which allows manufacturers to print code with high resin heat transfer ribbons at a rate of 600mm per second.
