The correct installation and use of the barcode ribbon also has a great impact on the service life of the barcode printer. It often encounters the user's ribbon and label paper stuck in the printer. The lighter can not print, and the machine can even be damaged. Familiar with the structure of the barcode printer and print media, and do some maintenance often, can ensure the normal use of the printer and extend the life of the machine.
1. Install the ribbon correctly
To determine whether the installed carbon tape is outer carbon or inner carbon, you can peel off a corner of the label and stick it on the outer surface of the ribbon roll. If there are black marks on the label, it can be determined as outer carbon, otherwise use this method to test whether it is inner carbon. The specific installation method can refer to the product manual, or find related installation videos on the Internet.
2.The thermal / thermal transfer mode should be set correctly
Some companies need printers with ordinary coated paper and thermal paper, so they often change the bar code paper and bar code ribbon.Sometimes the ribbon recovery shaft does not move, and the ribbon cannot be rolled normally. In this case, the printer is usually set to "hot "Min" printing method. After the coated paper label and ribbon are replaced, the printing method is not modified to the thermal transfer method, which will cause the ribbon shaft of the printer not to automatically roll. The user can change the printing method from thermal to thermal transfer in the printer's properties and save the parameter modification to solve the problem.
3.Appropriately clear the dirt caused by the back of the ribbon
After the bar code print head is contaminated with thermal paper and thermal transfer ribbon, high temperature, high pressure, high speed and other settings are required. Contaminants accumulate on the bar code print head needles and cause heat transfer obstacles that affect the print image quality. Increased contamination gradually reduces print quality and looks dull or damages the print pins.
