Thermal printhead for the Sato CL4NX series, 305 dpi. The CL4NX is a widely used 4-inch industrial printer and this head is the standard wear replacement when print starts to degrade. 300 dpi and 200 dpi versions of the same family are also available.

What resolution is this head?
305 dpi (about 12 dots per mm). The CL4NX is also supplied at 300 dpi and 200 dpi, and we can supply either.
Is 305 dpi the same as 300 dpi?
Not exactly. 305 dpi is 12 dots per mm and 300 dpi is 11.8. They are close, but the printer firmware expects a specific head, so match the machine rather than the number.
How long does a CL4NX head typically last?
It depends on volume, media and print settings. Abrasive label stock and high burn settings shorten life; a head that is cleaned regularly lasts considerably longer.
What causes early failure?
Most often label debris on the element, incorrect burn settings, or a worn platen roller that forces the head to work harder.
