Heat Select a material that is heat resistant if exposure to high temperatures is a problem. Documents left in vehicles, for instance, where summertime highs of over 150° F (66° C) can cause the chemicals in the paper to react, can become black and become unreadable. Some thermal materials are deliberately manufactured to tolerate greater temperatures in order to prevent this issue.

A paper with enhanced moisture resistance or a synthetic material will shield your document from deteriorating and becoming unreadable if it will be exposed to moisture, either because it will be stored in a wet or humid place or because it will be exposed to the elements. 

Customers typically perceive thicker materials as being of higher quality and greater durability. However, the less paper per roll there is, the fewer papers can be printed before the roll needs to be replaced. This is because thicker materials hold less paper.
