This ribbon is specially used for formulations developed for peak printing performance across a broad variety of media substrates. Thermal transfer ribbons, or Barcode ribbons as commonly known, come in many ink formulations. Choosing the wrong one can result in useless labels. Print quality can be poor, the ink can smear or fade, and choosing the wrong ribbon can reduce the speed of the printers & damage the printhead.

There are three types of ribbon ink: Wax Ribbons, Wax/Resin blend Ribbons, and Resin Ribbons.
